Tokyo: Subterraneans Books, 1967. First Edition. 12mo. Staple-bound pictorial card wrappers; 15pp. Inscribed on title page: "For my great friend Harry Smith / Menke," dated 1967 and with a small doodle of some flowers. Small scuff and a bit of dusting to wrappers, else Near Fine. Twelve short pieces by the Lithuanian-born Yiddish poet. Bilingual text in facing English and Japanese versions. The recipient, Harry Smith (1936-2012) was a New Hampshire poet and editor, found of the literary journal The Smith (not to be confused with the American musicologist of the same name).
