The book is part of the uniform edition of Greene's books but has four new stories and the remaining were reset that were not published in the 1947 version (nineteen stories) This volume of short stories was originally published in 1947 under the title Nineteen Stories. In this edition Graham Greene withdrew two stories The Lottery Ticket and The Other Side of the Border, and added four which were published in book form for the first time. They are The Hint of an Explanation, The Blue Film, Special Duties and The Destructor's. The book is very good++ and very bright. Contents good. The wrapper is very good++ and bright. Light edge rubbing. Spine slightly age toned. More images available can be taken upon request. Ref15587
Synopsis
Graham Greene (1904–1991) worked as a journalist and critic, and was later employed by the foreign office. His many books include The Third Man , The Comedians and Travels with My Aunt . He is the subject of an acclaimed three-volume biography by Norman Sherry.
