Thirteen original illustrations by John Brooke Clayton. Originally published in France in 1870. Pages clean, unmarked, no creases. Bright red cloth with elaborate gilt design and titles on spine, decorated gilt title panel on front, two tiny speckles, otherwise quite clean and unmarked; upper corner gently bumped, light wear to corners and spine head and heel edges, a bit of faint foxing to upper edge of text block. Former owner name printed on paste-down. 308 pages. 6 x 8.75 inches. 1965, The Fountain Press, Chicago, Illinois.
