Random House, 1998. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Near Fine. Very good in near fine dust jacket. SIGNED and inscribed/dated "'To Micalla- thanks for being here" by the author on title page. First edition, 1st printing, complete number line (ending in 2, per Random House custom at the time). Dust jacket has mild edgewear. Book has shelfwear to the bottoms of the boards. Inscribee's name is written on the first free endpaper. Bray's memoir of growing up on welfare in Chicago's Black Belt and becoming a respected journalist in New York. She is the author of "'Martin Luther King" and "A Black Child's Book of Prayer". Where possible, all books come with dust jacket in a clear protective plastic sleeve, sealed in a ziplock bag, wrapped in bubble wrap, shipped in a box.
