Appleton and Co. 1869. xix+522pp+2pp ads. 1st edition. Illustrated, with maps in color and black/white. Hardcover. Rebound, with new end-pages and original spine strip laid on new binding. Internally, with an inscription to the verso of the frontispiece and initials penciled to the top of the title page. Pages are slightly age-toned but otherwise clean. All plates are present as called for. One page 513-4, is damaged with chips along all margin edges. Overall, a very good, clean copy.
