New York: Duell, Sloan and Pearce, 1946. Jacques Deran sits in the New York hotel lobby waiting to turn over some papers so he would be free to live his own life again. When he finds the man he was to meet murdered, the chase and terror begin. Later printing. Gently bumped with tape residue to the boards. Hinges cracked, pages well tanned, with the previous owner's name stamped on the front end papers and evidence of a bookplate or stamp pad removal from the rear end paper. Possible ex-library but no library indications. Jacket rubbed and lightly foxed with a touch of wear at the edges. Tape residue to the flaps, damp stain to the rear flap, in Brodart.. Hard Cover. Good/Good.
