(Netherlands, Philips Galle), no date circa 1850.. Six handcoloured engraved plates with Latin and French captions, engraved by Karel van Mallery, after Jan van der Straet, called Stradanus, Galle's small printed name deleted at lower edge of all plates. Oblong format approximately 340 x 245 mm, 13 x 9½ inches, bound in old marbled paper. Marbled paper covers worn with tips of corners missing, vertical tear to outer margin of title page, repaired on blank side, not touching image, margins of plates dusty with some small brown spots, small turning creases to all corners, a good copy.
