Copper engraved view of early Sydney (which had been established only 23 years earlier), showing three Aborigines in the foreground tending a fire, tents and ships in the middle ground and ships and the settlement in the distance. From John Pinkerton's 'A General Collection of the Best and Most Interesting Voyages ...' London, 1812 (Beddie, 77), and after the engraving by Victor Pillement in 'Voyage de Decouvertes au Terres Australes', on which Charles Lesueur was also an artist. 8 x 5 1/2" with text below.
