Paris: Firmin Didot, 1806 12mo (19.8 cm), In-8, [7] ff, 263, [1] pp. Contemporary dark blue morocco by Thevenet, spine in compartments, gilt-lettered title and initials J. L. on the spine, gilt fillets to edges and endpapers, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers (binding slightly rubbed and chipped at the head of the spine, some toning of paper of the first quire). Inscribed by Firmin Didot to Parisian bookseller and publisher Auguste Nepveu ("Donné à Auguste Nepveu par l'auteur, Firmin Didot" at the top of the half-title. "L'épître dédicatoire à son frère Pierre Didot est imprimée dans le caractère cursif appelé “anglaise”, pour lequel Firmin Didot venait d'obtenir le brevet d'invention. Ce caractère a valu à l'ouvrage la médaille d'or de l'exposition des produits de l'industrie française en 1806. La traduction est suivie d'une Note bibliographique et typographique dans laquelle Didot signale de nombreuses fautes de l'édition aldine qu'Henri Estienne avait corrigées dans sa propre édition [...]. En fin de volume, F. Didot montre qu'il est possible d'imprimer sous la même presse typographique le texte et une planche en taille-douce, et il en donne l'exemple avec une vignette montrant la marque modifiée de Robert et Henri Estienne."
