I am an entry-level web designer. One of the senior members of our design team at work has this book, which spurred me to buy my own copy. A am using it as reference and it is quite helpful. Even though this edition is a bit out-of-date, much of the basic information is still valid and therefore a good reference, especially since many of the online references are now leaving older info behind in favor of the more up-to-date versions of HTML and CSS (Lynda.com doesn't even provide tutorials on HTML4 anymore, only HTML5).
