New York and London: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1899. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fine. Hardy, Thomas. 8.25" x 5.75". The first American edition of Hardy's first volume of verse, with 30 illustrations by the author. The green cloth binding with gilt lettering and image of the countryside is clean and bright, with minor wear to the lower edge of the spine. Top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed, in places unopened. Discoloration to endpapers, previous owner's signature in ink on the front free endpaper.
