First Edition, beautiful Paul Elder San Francisco publication, 1914, a collection of 15 short stories illustrated by California artists, 219 pages with 8 tipped in plates. First appearance of Jack London's "The Son of the Wolf" with a Maynard Dixon illustration. A lovely example of printing, Book is FINE, 8.75 by almost 6 inches, Publisher's mottled tan paper over boards, bright gilt title to front board and spine, No previous owner writing or bookplate, tight and square with sharp corners. MUCH better than usually found. Jacket is Very Good Plus, splits on spine folds, , some light rubbing on front leading edge, small tear and crumple to rear panel, light corner wear head chipped. Shows nicely in a new mylar sleeve. Scarce in this condition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
