About This Item
New York: Leo Feist, 1915. 4pp. paper folio: Good+. Cover art depicts a New York City dandy in formal wear with an inset photo of singer Dorothy Meuther. Cover is suitable for framing. Grant Clarke (1891-1931) wrote the classic hits "Am I Blue?" and "Second Hand Rose." Lyricist Joseph McCarthy (1885-1943) wrote the 1919 hit "Alice Blue Gown." The Italian-born Tin Pan Alley composer James V. (Jimmie) Monaco (1885-1945) had his first published composition in 1911. He composed music for both stage and early screen and wrote the big Al Jolson hit "You Made Me Love You," later reprised by Judy Garland.
