Dusjtacket condition: Good, with light shelfwear and some creasing to top edge of front cover of jacket.The book chronicles the story of Kenya's northern desert region, including its prehistory, indigenous tribes and a narrative of the white man's efforts to administer the land up to the year 1920. The core of the book is the section that deals with the 13 expeditions to explore Lake Rudolf (Turkana). Organised by a cross-section of Europeans and Americans (including Count Teleki and Count Wickenberg), each had its own tale to tell, each took a different route, and each made its own contribution to geographical knowledge..
