"Ellington Air Force Base; Ground Safety Deps; Dec. 1953" is penned in lead based ink on the ffep and grounds the history on this piece. One lead based ink dot that bleeds through page 47 to 48, top edge lightly toned, else pages are clean & unmarked. Included to the photographic illustrations in the book are pictures of men in uniform representing all 50 states, photographs of police vehicles of that day, a early Texas Ranger on horseback & more. He was appointed to the New York Supreme Court in 1885, the state Appeals Court in 1889, and the appellate division of the state Supreme Court in 1896. From 1898 to 1904 Parker was chief justice of the New York Court of Appeals. On the bench, he was noted for upholding the rights of labour and acquired a reputation for fairness, competence, and courtesy. He was persuaded to run for President. but was defeated, taking only 38 percent of the popular vote and winning 140 electoral votes to Roosevelt's 336.
