The first edition of this complete two volume set on wild flowers by Edward Step, bound in half crushed morocco. A first edition two volume complete set of this series on Wild Flowers. In the publisher's original half crushed morocco with cloth to the boards. Gilt details, text and raised bands to the spines. With full colour frontispieces, photographic vignettes and 96 photographic plates to each. Collated complete. With a loosely inserted letter to the author from the Secretary of the 'Entomological Society of London' thanking him for his photograph, dated 1930.This work was written by author Edward Step. Step was best known for his popular works on nature such as flowers, woodlands and herbs. In this two volume set, Step describes a multitude of wild flowers and their natural habitats that he accompanies with photographs taken by himself. In the publisher's original half crushed morocco with cloth to the boards. Externally generally smart with light rubbing to the extremities, joints and spines, the odd minor mark to the boards and fading to the spines and head of front board. Hinges starting but firm to 'volume II'. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages. The odd spot to the frontispieces and title pages and to the front and rear blanks to 'Vol II'. Scattered spotting to the fore edges. Very Good
