Set in the Welsh mountains, and with an inscription from the publisher's Publicity Manager. A publisher's uncorrected proof copy of this novel from John Wain, a poet, novelist, and critic, associated with the literary group known as 'The Movement', and often identified as one of the literary 'Angry Young Men'.With an inscription from Bill Kolins, Publicity Manager for Macmillan, to the half title, reading: 'Here he is team [...] here we are Peter, Now lets hear it in action'. Loosely inserted is a typed Macmillan internal office memo, dated January 1970, with details of the publishing schedule for the work.Set in the rural North Wales of the late 60s, the novel follows an English philologist intent on learning Welsh. In the publisher's original paper wraps. Light discolouration to back strip and wrap perimeters. Light mark to tail of front wrap. Publisher's inscription to half title. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Very Good
