Edited and with notes by Richard Herne Shepherd. Volume III of a three-volume edition of the English Elizabethan writer's literary works. Green ruled pebbled cloth with gilt center cameo of Chapman's head on front boards and gilt titles and publisher's device on spine. Frontispiece illustration of Homer and Chapman consorting with Greek Gods. 558 pages plus 40 page list of Chatto & Windus books, dated May 1879. Chapman's translations of Homer's epics made John Keats swoon and they still hold up today. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
