About This Item

London: W. Strahan (and 22 Others), 1783. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition Thus; volume Five only of the original twelve. Smooth calf leather binding. Clean text; 351 pages, with frontis engraving. Armorial bookplate on the front paste-down; contemporary signature on the FFEP. The spine is rubbed and cracked so that the original labels are no longer readable; the edges of the spine are cracked but is holding very well. Despite these defects it is basically a sound copy, and with a nice patina to the leather it presents very well.. First Thus. Full-Leather. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
