New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1963 2-volume set in slipcase. Slipcase is VG(-) w/ moderate rubbing and 4" narrow vertical slice to one side. HB w/ DJ. Pages: clean, bright, and tight; top edge blue, with fading toward spine. Cover: beige cloth with 1/4 blue binding; ligth blue/gray artwork to front, gilt lettering and artwork to spine; no defects. DJ, vol 1: fine, w/ mylar wrap; vol. 2: v. small crease w/ repaired tear to spine edge, else fine w/ mylar wrap. The history of Archaeology and its greatest discoveries, with photos, maps, and drawings. A complete and beautiful set in fine condition.

Very Good (VG)-small to modest tears, chips, marks, cocked etc. Good (G)-not so much, with larger tears or chips, possibly soiled, cocked, etc. Fair-ugly, with pages or large areas of DJ missing or other major defects. Poor(P)-truly ugly, disbound or requiring other major rehabilitation. We stabilize most minor defects with archival quality materials, and with few exceptions, these stabilizations are reversible
