About This Item

Old Saybrook, Connecticut: Konecky & Konecky These four volumes in a box set with a slipcase were published without dust jackets. All four books are bound in a uniform chocolate brown leatherette cloth with die-stamped silver titles on the front panels and spines. They are all in Fine condition with only minimal wear. These are all facsimile editions of definitive works by influential World War II historians that were formerly published individually. Although the books are in Fine condition, the slipcase was never originally strong enough to support the combined 11-pound weight on these volumes. Thus, the slipcase has been both repaired and reenforced. According to box blurb: "The struggle to halt Hitler's domination of Europe was long and hard fought. In North Africa and Stalingrad the Allies turned the tide on the German juggernaut, preparing the way for the Normandy invasion and the final push to Berlin. "The Fate of Europe" presents the work of four distinguished histoirans. Taken together their analyses of these decisive campaings show that the defeat of Hitler was by no means certain, and that underlying momentous events are acts of heroism and great personal sacrifice. Each volume measures 6 3/4 by 9 1/2 inches. Due to the 11-pound weight, there will be additional shipping charges following the initial order. . Hard Cover. Fine/No Dust Jacket as Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
