About This Item
Hodder & Stoughton, London, 1945. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Stead. bound in light blue cloth over boards, black title to the spine and to the front panel. Traces of foxing to the front edge and top edge of the text block, ownership notation on the inside of the front cover traces of foxing to the top edge of the front cover. The book was made at the end of the war and the quality of the binding is softer than we are used to today, and the corners of the boards do not have the amount of reinforcements that it is usual. As such there is a slight curving of the corners, which is a natural consequence of the frugality imposed upon the publishers owing to the wartime shortages. One illustrations, the frontispiece in colour the other 12 illustrations back to back up published with a green wash, on slightly thin paper, so that there is the suggestion of the image from the other side being also visible. Set on an island south-east of Singapore, this is another story of Squadron Officer Joan Worralson "Worrals" WAAF. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 192 pages. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Stead. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Literature & Literary; Inventory No: 0237615. .
