London: Longmans Green & Company Limited, 1889. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. This copy re-bound for the New Zealand Assembly Library (Now Parliamentary Library with Ads removed. Brown cloth with the Assembly libraries gilt device to the front board and gilt titles and library device to spine. Boards are heavily rubbed with two pulls at the head of the spine. Corners and spine tips are rolled and rubbed. Assembly library plate to front paste-down, over stamped "withdrawn''. Ink number to the head of the title page. Card holder to rear paste-down. Prominent crack to 282-283 and has a heavy lean and is shaky. Four pages with contemporary ink stains, text readable. Light foxing throughout. Obviously a well used book. Could be re-bound to bring it back into reasonable shape.
