Nicely illustrated copy of "The Yeomen of the Guard" - or, The Merryman and His Maid by Sir W.S. Gilbert with original dust jacket. 1929; Macmillan & Co.; London. The book features 8 color illustrations by W. Russell Flint and "drawings in pen and ink" by Charles E. Brock. The story is a "Savoy Opera" that ran for 423 performances at the Savoy Theatre and was the 11th collaboration between Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan (who composed the music for the opera).
Condition:
Clean covers and spine; sharp corners; bright gilt lettering on the front cover and spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Clean text pages with no issues found; book label affixed to the front end paper. The front end paper has "747" written in pen...no other writing found. Overall the book is in very good condition. The dust jacket has small pieces missing at the top and bottom edges of the spine, and a larger piece missing at the top edge of the front cover.
