London: T.C. Newby, 1847. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. de Freitas, Lima. Written by the author of "The Chronicles of the Bastile." Original blue cloth with blindstamped decoration to front and back, gilt titling with decoration to front and spine, gilted textblock edge, light yellow endpapers, illustrations by George Cruikshank: frontispiece, three plates and one in text, 190 pages. Inlaid is a handwritten letter by the author to Cruikshank concerning the engraved title page. The boards show age darkening, several areas of discoloration, corners and a small rub at bottom. Pictures are available upon request.
