Gaige had a reputation as a bon vivant and was widely respected as a gourmet and wine connoisseur. Owner's inscription on front free end paper. Some cocktail stains on two pages. Dust wrapper rubbed at spine with a couple of closed tears.

Not the full package, like the author's other drinks book; the Cocktail Guide and Ladies' Companion was not just a guide, but "a wise and witty discussion of the philosophy of drinking." But this one covers the basics, and it's still written by one of the great bon vivants of the 20th century. This title was also issued in a spiral binding with printed card covers, but this is the cloth issue with dust jacket, and handsomer as a result. clean, near fine copy in printed pale red cloth, in a lightly edgeworn dust jacket.
