Hamilton: Local 1005 Hamilton, 1996. -----The scan you see is the book you get. Black cloth with gilt (roughly) 11 1/4" by 9" (inches), 58 pages, filled with b & w photos, Near Fine condition, dust jacket is in Near Fine condition, now in Mylar. "The strikers had manufactured an iron wall around the plant on land. Unfortunately a large portion of Stelco's boundaries lay on water. It did not take long before Stelco started moving both men and supplies across the Bay from Burlington. The union needed a boat that could harass the company boats and hopefully disrupt their supply line. On July 20th the union's navy was born with the purchase of a motor launch they renamed the "WHISPER". The "WHISPER" was bought from a Hamilton bootlegger who used it to outrun the authorities.
