Sullivan with best wishes Feb. 18, 1942". Cane, a well regarded poet and known in his time for "Making a Poem" (1953), is chiefly known as legal counsel to William Saroyan, Thomas Wolfe, Sinclair Lewis, Ayn Rand, Upton Sinclair and others.
