Thick octavo. xxxv, 884pp. Gutters cracked, pages 418-419 with offsetting, good only being poet Daniel Hoffman's copy with his name and date penned on front fly and his extensive notations and underlining throughout, lacking the dust jacket.

Unbound sewn signatures laid into the finished dustwrapper. Publication date stamped on the titlepage ("Oct 28, 1957"). Crease on first leaf else very near fine in a price-clipped, sunned and worn good dustwrapper. Unusual and somewhat ungainly format, presumably prepared only for in-house use and thus likely prepared in only a dozen or so copies. We've not seen another.

Near Fine with mild sunning to spine. In a Near Fine publisher's original slipcase, with toning, light soiling and light wear. The limitation sheets were signed by Yeats in 1939, and retained by the publisher until this posthumous publication in 1957.

Laid in is the original letter from Kroch & Brentano's offering the book and explaining how they are able to offer an autographed copy nearly 20 years after the death of Yeats.
