About This Item

[New York]: [Women's International League for Peace and Freedom], 1946. Poster. 11x17 inch poster, horizontal fold, minor edge toning. No issuer stated, but the original recipient noted in pencil on the back that it was received from the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. Depicts an emaciated European child, with a facsimile of a letter to President Truman that had been signed by fifteen children, calling for the US to get relief to starving Europe. Text at lower right urges other children to write letters along similar lines, and lists officials to whom they should be addressed.
