Bound in at the rear at two thick envelopes titled Appendix 1 and Appendix 2 but both of these are empty. Several amendments have been made by hand or typescripts neatly inserted, these are neatly documented in manuscript to the front paste-down and dated. Original dark blue pebbled cloth binding with gilt lettering to the front board, very good with light general wear. Contents clean and tight, stamp of Commander Royal Engineers Wessex Area dated 20 jun 1933 to the front endpaper and initials added. A very good copy. Scarce.. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Collation: lithographed title page, Dedication, Subscribers, Preface , Introductory Notes, 9 Lithographic plates printed on thick paper each with a supporting leaf of letterpress printed to the verso only. Original green textured cloth binding with gilt lettering to the front boards and blind stamped decoration. Some general wear and rubbing, cloth a little discoloured, corners more worn. Contents good and tight, original pale yellow end papers - a little worn, stained and creased, title page with a little sliver fish damage to the top outer corner, not affecting image, now professionally repaired, last plate and associated letterpress also with a little silverfish damage to top outer corner, not affecting image, light spotting to some plates. A good copy. Notes: Henry Weaver (d.1886) was an architect and estate agent living near Calne, Wiltshire (as advertised on the title page). The volume is dedicated to The Marquis of Lansdowne (of Bowood House, near Calne). This 1st ed. was printed for the 102 named subscribers and, even though presumably other copies were printed, is undeniably scarce. It is not in RIBA or Colvin catalogue; we have managed to locate only one copy at auction and that in 2003.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good. Oblong Folio (30 x 44cm).
