The "once in a lifetime" caption was for the Gallup Poll declaration of the stories of the eight best mystery writers of all time. EQMM was launched in 1941 and by 1951 a monthly pulp with Dannay [Daniel Nathan] 1941-82 as Editor and his Brooklyn cousin Manfred Bennington Lee [Emanuel Benjamin Lepofsky] 1905-71. Over the course of over 40 years, they wrote more than 30 novels and several shorts collections 1929-71. Dannay also wrote under pseudonym Barnaby Ross and several juvenile novels as EQ, Jr. EQMM is still published today by Dell Magazines/Penny Publications with Janet Hutchings as current editor 1991-present (2019)..
