Book Stated "First Printing" of Clark's debut novel, which was the basis of the Academy Award-nominated film of the same name (released in 1943), staring Henry Fonda Size: 8"-9" - Octavo (8vo). 309 pages. Item Type: Book. The text block is tight, unmarked and only slightly toned. However, as is typical for this book, the free front end paper has been cut out and the glue for the front and rear pastedowns has darked and toned the facing pages. Oatmeal cloth over boards with top corners sharp and bottom corners only slightly turned. Spine is age darkened and there is some foxing in the gutters. There are two marks where it appears a cover in which the dust jacket was one held was taped to the front and back covers.
