A dramatization of Tarkington's tragi-comic novel about an American family. Gray wraps with brown titles on front cover and spine. Some soiling and spotting of cover with edge wear, corners creased, light wrinkles near spine, short cut in front cover affecting half title, ink price notation (85 cents) on front cover, crease and wrinkle in half title leading bottom corner, interior pages bright, binding tight. Trade paperback, measures 5 x 7 1/2 inches.

A collection of seven stories: "The Amber Gods," "In a Cellar," "Knitting Sale-Socks," "Circumstance," "Desert Sands," "Midsummer and May," and "The South Breaker." Prescott was known for her detective stories and poems. Purple blindstamped covers with gilt top edge, brown end papers. Spine cover missing, some edge wear and spotting to cover, corners bumped, a little fading along edges, front hinge a little weak with split in end papers, notations on page facing title page, interior pages tanned, one section pulling loose from binding, notation on back free end paper.

The art is mostly scenes from the writings of the authors. Green cloth binding with gilt lettering and decoration on front cover and spine. Spine gilt faded, a little spotting, light edge wear, spine ends and corners a bit bumped, rough cut interior pages very lightly tanned.

Louisville, Kentucky: Angeline Publishing Company, 1924 - 1929. Some first editions. Paperback. Very Good/No jacket. Nine volume boxed set with five publishers brochures. Written in the African-American and southern dialect of Kentucky, this series offers an amusing look at the world through the eyes of a witty and sharp observer of human nature. Brown illustrated wraps with black titles on front cover, two staple binding. Minimal edge wear, a little scuffing, leading edges rough cut with tiny tears in the leading edge of one front cover, interior pages yellow but that may have been the original color, a little spotting of some brochures, original box is a little dirty inside with some large chips in paper cover and stains.

Once a well-known author and former journalist, Maurice DeKobra (1885 - 1973) traveled widely and used his journalistic skills in his fiction. Illustrated wraps with red and black lettering, rough cut front edges, list of books on back cover. Some tanning of cover, some edge wear, chips and small tears at top and bottom of spine, a few light stains, corners bumped and creased, light creases in corners of interior pages and some tanning of pages, closed tear in last page before table of contents leading edge, some page edges creased. Binding seems tight but may require careful handling.

Signed by author on half title page. Tan cloth binding with gilt titles and borders on front cover and gilt titles on spine, olive green end papers. Very light shelf wear, minor bumping of corners and spine ends, a spot or two on cover, interior pages bright and clean, binding tight. Pink dust jacket with gray title block on front cover and black titles on front cover and spine is a bit spotted, faded along edges and spine, spine titles still sharp, not clipped. Measures 6 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches.

This Literary Guild edition is a resetting of the limited Random House Edition, made under the supervision of the Pynson Printers of New York. Blue cloth binding with silver lettering and imprint on front cover, silver titles and decorations on front cover and spine. Top and bottom edge of cover faded with tanning, spine a little faded, small stain at base of spine, pages tanning with a little spotting, binding tight. Mylar covered lightweight jacket with black titles and blue borders is chipped at top and bottom edges, has a few light creases, tanned, not clipped. Very handsome edition in nice conditon.
