New York: S. W. Green. VG+. 1872. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very good plus condition with light usage showing. Slight musty scent. Russet covers/gold lettering/details. Front cover has 2 very small stains that are hard to see. Also a bunch of tiny black dots near spine. Also spine has 2 itst-bitsy nibble holes by title. Once nibble takes away part of the Y in title. Spine ends have normal creasing/bumping. Other cover corners also have teeny bump/rub. Gold lettering on front cover states author's name and Painted Post NY the town he lived in. This book may have been the author's personal copy. Endpapers are dark brown. Rear endpapers each have a teeny nick at bottom edge. Text is clean/tight however there are a few very pale brown lines on some pages. Author talks about religious philosophers from the Bible such as Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter, Job, Malachi, Ezekiel, etc. This is a very hard-to-find title.
