Overall, a lovely rendition and wonderful find. A long poem of major importance by the renowned Irish poet and author (1904-1967).

A printing error on page 41 has blanked out in a near vertical line some letters of each of three verses, though you can still figure out the words from context of Frankie (Gambler's Song), some might know as Frankie and Johnny. 33 Songs with Illustrations. Scarce little volume with illustrations of German artists and poets. \nOskar Kokoschka painted in Expressionist style, informed by medieval artists and Gustav Klimt. He proposed to Alma Mahler three days after meeting her and only 11 months after she was widowed by husband composer Gustav Mahler. The three year affair is said to have influenced his painting. Kokoschka died shortly before his 94th birthday in 1980.
