A single issue of this science fiction magazine, featuring a 'complete novel,' Wine of the Dreamers, by John D. MacDonald, preceding the appearance of his first separately issued novel, (published in October of the same year). Wine of the Dreamers was published in a separate hardcover edition in 1951. Also included in this issue is work by L. Sprague de Camp and Fritz Lieber, among others. GOOD+ condition. Some browning to the wraps, most noticeable along the rear cover. Minor soiling and very light fading. Minor chipping and tearing along the fore edges of the covers, with a slight tear at the lower front edge. Slight loss of wrappers at the head and tail of the spine. Interior clean and solid with moderate browning to the paper.

This book consists of plays by John O'Hara, Try!Try!; John Ashbery, The Heroes; James Merrill, The Bait; and Lionel Abel, Absalom. A few photos of the plays are interspersed throughout the text. Try! Try! By O'Hara is the story of a young man returning to civilian life after the Korean War. Described as one of the first "beat" dramas. Ashbery's play reworks the myth of Theseus. Merrill's play concerns itself with Jamesian characters and Abel's play retells the famous biblical story in existential terms. In GOOD condition. Moderate soiling to the covers including one noticeable centimeter sized spot at the lower front corner. Uneven sunning/browning around the edges of the front and back cover. Spine sunned and faded. A thorough look at flying airplanes, considering seaplane flying, types of aircraft, aircraft design details, the use of senses, the art of test flying, etc. With photos of single engine seaplanes, monoplanes, biplanes, triplanes, flying boats, etc. Norman Macmillan was a pilot during World War I, serving in the British Armed Forces and considered an ace by having nine confirmed victories.
