This little newspaper (4 pages) is lightly rubbed at the edge and has some light surface soil. There's a fold at the middle (it has been stored that way). It has several marvelous wood-cut illustrations, a great heron in flight on the front. It contains "Minute Men" by Dawes, "Essential Oil" by Beman, among other works.

Boston: G. & C. & H. Carvill, 1833. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Soft cover. Good+/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. This soft bound book with tan wraps is basically tight and square. It is rubbed at all edges. The back strip is chipped at the bottom, there is a name on the front wrap, and author's names written in pencil on the table of contents. All pages are bright and clear with occasional light toning. It contains reviews of (which are much more than reviews) books and articles including Revolutions in Poland (Howe), Lord Byron's Conversations on Religion (Peabody), Temperance (E. Everett), Nullification (A. H Everett), among other articles. It has black titles on the front and contains pages 1 - 288, plus advertisements. No title page, information taken from front wrap. Boston: Perry Mason Company, 1890. First Edition First Printing . Soft cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. This Youth's Companion has been very well kept and is clean, tight and unmarked with minimal toning (a bit more at the edges) and a shallow crease along the middle . It contains "Mister's Merry Christmas" by Robinson, "Caleb and the Judger" by Pillsbury among many other stories and serials, fact and fiction. It contains many great period ads. It has pp: 691 - 70. It has pictorial wraps with St. Nick reading a Youth's Companion and a small name on the front.

New York: National Society of The Daughters of the American Revolution, 1917. First Edition First Printing . Soft cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. This magazine is clean, basically tight, square and unmarked. It is lightly rubbed. It has 75, bright, clear pages plus ads illustrated with black & white photos bound in blue pictorial wraps. It contains "The Carlyle House, Alexandria, VA" by Stuntz and "Historic Canonsburg" by Fee among many other works.

They are rubbed a bit at the spines and each has a bookplate on the front paste down. They have tan end papers and 448, 512 (plus ads), 491 (plus ads), bright, clear pages, most unopened, bound in maroon cloth covered boards with bright gold titles on the spine. The end papers on vols. II and III have faint damp stain at the edges and a page in vol. II was opened badly.

This book is clean, tight, square with sharp corners and unmarked in a good dust jacket that has edge wear including some small chips and very short closed tear. The book si rubbed at the top of the spine. It has 335, bright, clear pages bound in blue cloth covered boards with gold titles on the spine. The Farrar F/S is on the copyright page.

They have 336, 318, 307, 326, bright, clear pages (gilt edged on the top with a deckle fore edge) illustrated with tissue guarded black & white plates bound in red cloth covered boards with gilt titles in a gilt edged white box on the spine. The white boxes have minor chipping at the edges.

This book is basically clean, tight, square and internally unmarked, but there's an 1893, pencil, name on the front paste down. The corners are bumped and worn to rounding and the page edges are soiled/toned. It has 309, bright, clear pages illustrated with black & white wood engravings in a one-quarter binding with a recent brown leather on the spine with gilt band and gilt titles in a black box. The boards are the original blue paper with black titles & descriptions on the front and ads on the rear.

Chicago: Brothers of the Book, 1917. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Of this first edition there were four hundred and seventy-four copies printed, no second edition was made. This copy is number 134 of 100 copies on Inomachi vellum in a three-quarter binding. The elegant multi-part slip case and portfolio has brown leather on the spine. The spine has 5 raised bands with gilt designs and titles in panel. The other parts of the case are covered in orchid colored cloth. The slip case has some mild fading in places and some light rubbing. The book is near flawless with an Oscar Wilde bookplate on the front paste down. There's a small scuff on the ffep. The book pages are deckle edged and its boards are covered in blue paper. There are gold titles on the spine. This is a beautiful item.
