Similar decoration and title, author and publisher in gilt to the spine. Vertical stain/discoloration to spine. Covers rubbed at edges. A very nice illustrated copy of this work by Dickens.

Boumard Fils, also known as Boumard et Fils, was a family-run publisher of religious art, active at the beginning of the twentieth century. Boumard Fils was located in the Saint-Sulpice neighborhood of Paris, the center of the religious printing industry in France. The artwork on their earlier cards is exemplary of the Saint-Sulpician style.

Otherwise, pages clean and free from marking, soiling or staining. Bound in contemporary black cloth with gilt cross and palm to front cover. Light wear to edges and spine slightly sunbleached. A well preserved prayerbook from the American Iowa Synod. A scarce piece of American Lutheran history.

Bound in publisher's original cardboard covers with cloth spine. Covers soiled and very lightly worn, mostly at edges and hinges. A good copy in original covers.

Bound in contemporary black cloth. Spine lightly sunbleached. Otherwise covers very lightly worn. A nice copy in a contemporary binding. Scarce.

Philadelphia: J.P. Skelly & Co., 1873. Original Cloth. Very Good. 4 x 6 1/8 inches. 275 pages with engraved frontispiece and protective tissue intact. One initial blank excised. Old bookseller's stamp on ffep (Powner's Antiquarian Bookstore, Chicago) and an occasional light spot, but pages generally clean without marking, soiling or stains. Bound in publisher's purple cloth with black decoration and gilt title, publisher and decoration to spine. Covers worn with a scratched area on the rear cover and a spot of loss to the cloth on the front cover. A very good copy of this scarce historical/allegorical novel of a child's experience in the New York of the middle 19th Century.

Scattered light foxing, but otherwise pages clean and bright and free from marking, soiling and staining. All page edges rouged. The newsletters contain illustrations of city views and various linguistic issues. The articles deal with missions and related cultural, political and linguistic issues. Bound in marbled boards over black cloth spine and corners. Covers very lightly worn. An interesting collection of several newsletters addressing missionary and translation issues among other topics.
