Description:
Albuquerque, NM: Passages Bookshop, 1995. First printing. 18.5 x 13 inches. Letterpress plus collage and hand coloring, in an edition of seventy-five numbered copies. Printed at the Salient Seedling Press by Katherine Kuehn -- who, along with Nancy Culmone, also assisted in the collaging and coloring. As new. For many years Paul Maurer documented the handmade memorials in the campo santos (the local cemeteries) across rural New Mexico, through photography, drawing, and rubbings, which he incorporated into a series of Campo Santo books that also included calligraphy, marbling, collage, and found objects. This print carries the spirit of those books into a single two-dimensional image. Maurer's drawing is printed letterpress from a photo-engraved plate; to that are added collaged elements from his photographs, and extremely varied hand coloring, so that each copy in the edition is unique.

Description:
Columbus, OH: Wexner Center Bookshop, n.d.. First printing. 17 x 24 inches. Lithographic poster from photograph by Kevin Fitzsimons. Very slight rumpling, and faint unevenness in printing of solid black background, but essentially fine. One of several posters created for a sale at the shop of the Wexner Center (located on the OSU campus), which specializes in books by and about artists. In this clever image, copies from a series of twenty-six letter-titled books by Jan Voss are arranged to spell CECI N'EST PAS UN LIVRE ("this is not a book," a reference to the famed Magritte painting "Ceci n'est pas un pipe"), answered by the line "and this is not a poster."
