New York. E.P. Dutton. 1886. Very handsomely bound in the high Victorian style in multichromatic pictorial gilt decorated cloth with elaborate gilt tooled views to front cover. Gilt titles. Decorated endsheets. a.e.g. Folio (10" x 12.5"). Illustrated throughout with full page engravings after drawings by Harper, Woodward, Fenn, Copeland, et al. And further by elaborate page decorations and motifs. Rear cover presents evidence of water staining and some wrinkling to cloth, although this condition does not affect internals. Several very mild instances of light water staining to gutters of several pages, not affecting text or plates. One signature professionally repaired and trimmed a bit long. A Very Good, crisp, bright copy and a superior example of ornate Art Nouveau book design.
