The front cover is bright and colorful, there is a smudge on the top left of the cover, perhaps glue residue from a removed sticker. The back cover is white and has some smudging on it. The book is spiral bound; the binding is intact and in very good condition. The interior of this book is in very good plus condition. The pages are clean and bright, there is no writing or markings detected. The book seems to have been used very little. The book contain descriptions of various species of native and invasive aquatic plants found in Maine. Genera include Potamogeton, Utricularia, and Myriophyllum. Species descriptions include color photographs and labeled black/white drawings. There are also sections on plant structure, identification key, aquatic plant survey methods, and lists of common and scientific names of plants.

The author, title and publisher are stamped in bright gold on the spine. Library call numbers are visible near the bottom of the spine. The binding is solid, but the front and back boards are very loose and the gutter is visible when open in a few locations internally. The interior pages of this book is in good plus condition. There is no writing, markings or foxing detected. Library markings include pastedown on the inside of the front board, a stamp on title page, and borrowing card/jacket pasted on the inside of the back board and rear end paper. The maroon covers are in good plus condition. There is minor bumping at the top/bottom of spine. The title and author are in bright gold on the front cover and spine. The covers retain much of their original color, although there are small spots and some staining, mostly on the front cover. The binding is solid. There is a small stain on the lower page edges and page edges mildly toned. This is not visible on open pages. The interior of the book is in very good condition. There is no writing, the pages are clean and bright. A small stain is visible on the bottom of one page, no other spotting detected.
