House-Warven, 1950. Hardcover. Good. Alban M. Emley, Author; Illustrations, D. Karsell. Beautifully bound, large book, with silver and teal, embossed boards (similar to an old yearbook/annual). Boards covered with a clear plastic protective dust jacket. This plastic book cover has yellowed over the years, especially along spine, and has grown a bit brittle, but isn't splitting. It's done a terrific job in preserving the lovely boards. The old scotch tape has left a small bit of residue along top and bottom of front cover. Hell of spine has light bumping. Corner tips are unbent/bumped, still square. Tight binding. Clean text block, only lightly faded. One small brownish spot on text block edge near top. (It is not foxing). Tucked inside is a yellow bookmark from a now defunct bookstore in Long Beach. Leaving that with the book, because it's an interesting bit of memorabilia. 220pp.

Platt & Munk, 1964. Hardcover. Good. Delightful book of fairy tales, with amazing and colorful illustrations by Holling C. Holling (H.C.) and his wife, Lucille. Large oversize folio publication. Scuffed boards, but still retain color. Corner tips are worn through to cardboard. Scraping to board edges, particularly to the bottom edge. Heel and head of spine are worn. Half moon shaped ding on upper edge of front board. Pages are lightly toned. The illustrations are still bright and vivid. Binding is in great shape. No loose pages. H.C. Holling was an American writer and illustrator, best known for the book Paddle-to-the-Sea, which was a Caldecott Honor Book in 1942. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1923. He worked as an art instructor before turning to the writing and illustrating of children's books. 83 pages.

The purple cloth boards are stained, faded, scuffed, and scratched. Front board is pulling away. The cloth on spine is worn through and splitting along the spine. Worn through at head and heel of spine. Worn through and bumped corner tips. Dirty, yellowed and stained text block. Boards are bowed downward at the corners. The hinges of the book are extremely loose, with the very first page of book loose and tucked inside the leaves of the book. Bumped corners and spine ends with light wearing to cloth. All pages have moisture/liquid staining along bottom edges and corners of the text block. Age-toned pages. Good binding. Very readable. 94 pages.

Heuser Conferences, 1965. Acceptable. 3 ring binder distributed by Gordon Heuser at one of his many seminars on the chiropractic practice, including topics of consultation, x-ray procedures, examinations, and setting up a practice. This particular binder was from seminar at the Hawaiian Regent Hotel in 1973. Lots of notes. Pages are lightly age-toned and sunned. Smudges and some stains on some of the pages. No loose pages. The binder is in really nice shape. Unpaginated.

St. Martin's Press, 1983. Hardcover. Acceptable. Hardcover. Dust jacket is shelf-worn, scraped, nicked, scuffed and scratched. Crimped, dented. Black cloth boards are fairly clean with just a couple of small white spots, and dust in the hinge. Binding is reasonable. All pages attached, but book does fall open between page signatures. Glossy photo-stock pages are yellowed. 239 pages.

University of Oklahoma Press, 1963. Hardcover. Good. Hardcover. No DJ. Octavo. Green cloth covered boards are mostly clean, with the exception of what appears to be tiny flecks of point along the front edge of the boards. Perhaps the dust jacket was stuck along edge and removed? Light shelf wear to cloth at spine heel and on very tips of corners. The spine end is lightly indented, but not mashed. Textblock does have a twist to it, however the binding is nice and sound. No dog ears or crimping to pages. Overall a good copy and nice reading copy. 254 pages.

1982. Softcover. Good. This paperback was prepared for the Administrative Conference of the United States. Originally published in 1974, this is the revised edition for 1982. Written by Merritt Ruhlen, retired administrative law judge. Book covers are lightly rubbed with rubbed edges of spine. All corners are lightly bumped. Pages 61 to 76 have a vertical crease from top of text block to one inch from gutter. Appears to have occurred during printing process. All pages are clean and unmarked.

D.C. Heath & Company, 1925. Hardcover. Acceptable. The date of publication is an estimation, based on a review of this book in the The Modern Language Journal, Vol. 10, No. 5, dated Feb, 1926). The book was made in Great Britain, printed by Turnbull and Spears, Edinburgh, Scotland. Greenish olive boards stamped with title and decorative border in darker green. Spine is tanned, less so around the edges of boards. Upper portion of spine is cocked to right. Lightly bumped board tips, with wearing of cloth on very tips of corners. Shelf wear along bottom of boards. Page block has darkened and is dirty. Front pastedown has previous owners name. Back pastedown has an old price written in pencil. All pages are age toned with darker toning in the hinges of front and back covers. Book has no observable markings on interior pages. 244pps.

The slick, heavy paper stock has mellowed slightly with darker tanning on the outside of the pages. 88 pages filled with beautiful color photos of the work on display.
