Gilt all around. Marbled endpapers. Bookplates of a previous owner on the ffep., and the ink name of another owner on the blank page before the half title page in both volumes. Very slight scuffing at spine ends and edges. No other marks or damage at all.  Vol. I - xvi, 748 pp, Vol. II - vii, 786 pp. Robert Browning (1812 -1889) was an English poet and playwright whose dramatic monologues put him high among the Victorian poets. He was noted for irony, characterization, dark humor, social commentary, historical settings and challenging vocabulary and syntax. An especially attractive set. Near fine.

Thomas Myles Steinbeck (1944 â€" 2016) was a screenwriter, photographer, and journalist He published numerous works of fiction, including short stories and novels He was the elder son of American novelist John Steinbeck This is a signed and inscribed "To the 'Queen of the Nile' Thomas S We peel grapes" It is a typescript draft of a screenplay of one of his father's better known books, The Pearl and dated "Final Draft Polish Corrected 9/24/94" It is comprised of looseleaf pages between vinyl cover pages held by common office fasteners, and is in excellent condition with no other marks or damage It was acquired in an auction of items from the estate of John and Elaine Steinbeck, so this copy was owned by John Steinbeck's third wife Elaine, who died in 2003 The estate auction tag is shown in the photo .

Washington, D.C.: U.S. Government Priinting Office, 1982. First. Softcover. Near Fine. The Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians was a group of nine people appointed by the U.S. Congress in 1980 to conduct an official governmental study into the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. The Commission looked at the decision of the exclusion, the justification for it, and the conditions that permitted the decision. The decision they found was mostly based on fear and racism. There was a lot of public fear at the time due to racial stereotypes. The justification by General DeWitt, the man who recommended this action, was found to be unreasonable and racist. He claimed that the Japanese demonstrated a military danger; however, the majority of the Japanese population were law-abiding civilians, so this clearly was not the case.
