The card has both of the company's advertising slogans prominently placed above the pictorial of the manufacturing plant and surrounded on 3 sides by international views, the center view appearing to be Columbia holding aloft a bar of soap with an American flag draped on her lap, supported by an American eagle. The text on the verso advertises B.T. Babbitt's Baby Soap and A Perfect Toilet Soap. Considered a genius of advertising, in 1851 B.T. Founded in Cincinnati in 1868, the company changed its name in 1881 to Fleischman & Co. and to The Fleishmann Co. in 1905. The card depicts Russia courting Korea while China fights with Japan, an unusually political topic for a trade card.

The author's account of his seafaring journey from Philadelphia to San Francisco as was recorded in his log or sea diary, and written in book form during his retirement. Included are two lovely full-page wood engravings, one titled "Neptune boarding the ship," and the other showing a waterspout on the high seas titled from Psalm 42, verse 7, "Deep calleth unto deep at the voice of thy water-spouts.".

First published in 1926, the My Travelship series of books was very successful, and 1954 was its thirtieth printing. The other two books in this series were Little Pictures of Japan (1925) and Nursery Friends from France (1927). Olive Beaupre Miller (1883-1968) established the company The Book House for Children in 1919, and employed a large female staff. Exceptional condition for this well-loved children's classic.
