University of California Press, 1968, 1968. Soft cover. Very Good. Thin octavo, softcover, VG in green and white pictorial wraps. 82 pp. illustrated throughout in b & w and some color. Map of Bay Area 9 counties plus Santa Cruz county on frontis. Area is rich in shrubs, many benefitting from coastal fog and moisture laden winds. In dry areas chaparral is almost entirely shrubs, and shrubs are dense in pine forest, redwood forest, and mixed forests.
