Ian Allan, London, 1972, 1st ed. 160 p.with 48 pages of photographs includes index. Very good/very good mylar. WWII escort carrier ships. During the Second World War the British needed a platform for planes to use for protection of the convoy fleets moving goods. They converted captured German merchant ships and added decks for take off. Then the pilots were able to attack U-boats and enemy bombers.
