About This Item
Hardcover first edition with dust jacket. Published by Oxford University Press, 1999. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Here twelve scholars examine the details of warfare during the Medieval period, from the time of Charlemagne to the 1500s. Chapters explore the experience of war during this time, the development of weapons, changes in strategy and tactics, the advent of gunpowder, improvements in navigation and shipbuilding and much more. More than 100 black and white photos. 340 pages with Index, Bibliography, and Chronology. As is usual with Oxford, this is a very sturdy book with high quality paper stock and sturdy cloth covered boards. The boards are flat, no edge wear. Very light bumps to the top right corners, only apparent without the dust jacket on. Author's name and title imprinted in gold on the spine, all lettering is crisp and not worn or rubbed. A beautiful copy! Attached is a photo of the copy we have in our inventory.
