The Royal Engineers used specially designed tanks and other vehicles to remove obstacles, lay bridges, etc. during the assualt of Normandy on D-Day. They were known as "Hobart's Funnies;" this is the story of their development and deployment by the 1st Assault Brigade. Contains an index and a source notes in the rear. Original publisher's dark blue covers with gilt spine lettering. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings. The dust jacket in similarly nice condition with no chips, tears, or markings. ; B&W Illustrations, Photos, & Maps; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 266 pages .
