About This Item
Grand Rapids, MI: William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, 2009. Paperback. Very Good. Clean pages except for a gift inscription on a bookplate affixed to the first (half-title) page, identifying this as the copy of a Calvinist author. The soft cover has a crease across the top left rear corner, a pressure mark at the left front, and minor wear at spine ends, otherwise well-kept. xx, 735pp. This is the first English translation of the 1541 French text, itself drawn from the 1539 Latin text; the translator contends that this is a seminal work, containing a complete treatment of the theological principles present in later editions, but cast for a general audience.
